Burnside Special Gambler 500 – The Resto-Shod v1.2
Ever wondered what would happen if you gave up on that eternally broken project car and just dumped it onto an offroad track instead?
This is my entry for the Gambler 500 competition, a hacked up burnside that’s spent its last few years in the middle of a rapidly bloating restoration project, only to be given up on and had some bits quickly slapped back on to take it to the Gambler instead.
This is heavily inspired by UPnDOWN’s Citroen DS project (aka Clement) over on youtube, and more specifically it’s current “mad max” form with all the supporting megajig stuff over it to stop the rust collapsing in on itself. As pointed out by a couple commenters it could probably stand on its own (and be a lot less costly) to just be some sort of race car as it is so I thought I’d do just that for the Gambler competition.
This mod is in no way the finest modelling or jbeam work ever produced but I wanted to make sure I brought my idea to life still and I think I’ve done an ok job of that.
This is the most involved I’ve ever been with jbeam editing and the model was whipped up on late evenings between a level exam revision so it’s quite wonky in places but I’m happy with what I’ve been able to produce here. Just ignore all the clipping and weird attachment beam breaking on the petrol tank since I made that from scratch and I’m not good at that.
