Backyard Kart v0.12.1
Here is the backyard kart!
This update is to fix the offset dummy breaking the kart lua. It is a fair bit larger due to including several WIP textures that I have yet to compress.
This update also includes:
WIP.
Texture updates.
Mesh updates.
Snorkel.
For the dummy and the kart.
Kart snorkel is under the engine intake.
Currently only for the non cvt engines on the standard and irs axles.
Not fully tested as of yet, but the irs snorkel is stable.
Dummy snorkel is…
It is a kart based on a real-life kart I rode as a kid back in the late 90s. My dad, luckily, hates throwing away anything he built, so he still had bits of this kart around so I could verify dimensions and more closely estimate the weights. In order to make it stable in beam, I had to make it roughly 40-60 pounds heavier than IRL, but I figured it was close enough.
It has independent front suspension and a rear axle that is welded to the frame, so while it is designed for off-road driving, it is not designed for high-speed off-roading.
The solid rear axles will skip under hard cornering and braking since the only bump absorption will be through the tires. The skipping is a defining characteristic of this kind of vehicle and occurs when there is a misbalance in the front and rear traction, the center of gravity is too high, and if the rear tires are bad quality. This should only occur around 2-3Gs, so if you see it at any lower Gs, let me know your tune and I will investigate it.
