History of Maartens Automotive:
Maartens Automotive is an English luxury brand. The brand is known for combining flashy looks and performance with modern day practicality in mind.
Its roots go back to 1955 in Yorkshire, England, where the Maartens auto garage used to be. The garage specialized in the modernization of sports cars, mainly Porsches. It quickly caught the attention of sports car owners across the country and became a household name within half a decade due to the early use of aluminum to improve chassis rigidity and suspension component reliability.
Fast forward to 1965, with enough engineering power and an experienced staff, Maartens took the first generation of the 1963 Porsche 911 with modifications to enter the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GT class at number 15, registered as the iconic blue and white livery. Team “Martens Racing”. Which has now become its high-performance branch. They finished in 11th place overall, only 2 minutes behind the car of Jackie Steward and Graham Hill. The team continued to race annually until 1972 when they did not enter the event as they focused resources on developing their first group 5 prototype. They continue to finish to this day with moderate success, with several class wins.
